If war is not the Answer what is?
Long term diplomacy that takes a hard look at the facts, underlying causes, and strives for long term solutions. Knee-jerk reactions don't make up for the lack of vision -they only provide short-term, reactive solutions to "symptoms of the day."
How are we supposed to combat terrorism?
By getting to the root cause of it, not by treating the symptoms. We are currently playing "whack a mole" as they pop up. Doing that sure provides us "gimme high five" moments once in a while, keeps us busy, and allows the politicians to leave us the citizens with an impression that we are making some progress. What we need is a long term view of the situation, and a well-thoughtout long term plan carefully implemented.
I hear a lot fo complaining but nobody seems to be proactive enough to come up with a better solution.
The problem is many are looking for the answers to be provided by "some one else." We need to be the change we want to see in the world.
Fact: More people die in major US cities than in Iraq and Afghanistan.
True, but that in itself -no matter how unfortunate that is -does not justify a single life that may be needlessly wasted elsewhere in the world. All lives are precious...
Anyway I dont intend to offend anybody just trying to be heard I guess.
Relax, you are not offending anybody simply by engaging in a responsible dialog, and by expressing your point of view. In my humble view, that is what makes us responsible citizens -of this small and fragile world that we are all privileged to be cohabitating...
Feel free to comment or even correct me if i am wrong. I am no expert just know what I see. Thank you.
Glad to have you onboard, and thank you for your participation.
