Saddam Captured, now working for Bush 2004 Campaign.

Finally, after months of hiding and running around, Saddam Hussein was captured from a bunker only a short distance away from one of his palaces. He was immediately provided a variety of health care and cosmetic services. "Bush for 2004" campaign is now already working hard to leverage this event to justify its "end justifies means" policy.

Of course, this was a great news for the Iraqi people who were long oppressed by his brutal regime. One can only hope that his removal from Iraqi political landscape will allow democracy to gain a foothold in Iraq. Hopefully, this will lead to reduced violence and an accelarated transition to Iraqi self-government.

Pres. Bush's 2004 campaign seems to be already busy trying to cash in on this new development. Regardless of what the political pundits and talking heads may want us to believe, I think there may be some down-to-earth, simple reasons why Saddam may have surrendered.
